Online Safety Policy

Last updated: June 2026

National Consumer Review is owned and operated by Marketing Punch Ltd.

We want National Consumer Review to be a safe, fair and transparent website for people who choose to enter prize draws, complete surveys, receive offers and hear from brands that may be relevant to them.

This policy explains how we think about online safety, how we manage risk on the site, and what you can do if you have a concern.

1. About National Consumer Review

National Consumer Review is a prize draw, offers and marketing website. Users may enter competitions, answer questions, complete surveys, register their marketing preferences and choose whether they want to receive offers from us or selected third parties.

National Consumer Review is not a social media platform, forum, messaging service or public content-sharing website. Users cannot publicly post, publish, share or promote content to other users through National Consumer Review.

That said, we still take online safety seriously. We believe a website that collects information, sends marketing communications and works with commercial partners should be clear about how it protects users.

2. Our approach to the Online Safety Act 2023

The Online Safety Act 2023 is designed to make online services safer, especially where users can encounter illegal content, harmful content, or content that may put children at risk.

Based on the current way National Consumer Review operates, we do not consider National Consumer Review to be a user-to-user service or search service in the way most people would understand those terms, because users do not upload public posts, send messages to each other, create public profiles, or search content created by other users.

However, we still take a proportionate approach to online safety. We will:

  • review how the site works;
  • consider whether any part of the site creates a risk of illegal or harmful content;
  • keep our position under review if the site changes;
  • remove, block or investigate any content, entry, message or behaviour that appears unlawful, harmful, abusive, fraudulent or unsafe;
  • cooperate with regulators, law enforcement or other appropriate authorities where required.

3. Age restriction and children

National Consumer Review is intended for users aged 18 or over.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18 for registration, prize draw entry or marketing purposes. The site includes an 18+ entry requirement, and users should not register or enter prize draws if they are under 18.

If we become aware that a person under 18 has registered, entered a promotion or provided personal data through National Consumer Review, we will take appropriate steps to remove or restrict that data and prevent further marketing activity.

Parents, guardians or carers who believe a child has used National Consumer Review should contact us so we can investigate.

4. Content and behaviour we do not allow

Although National Consumer Review does not allow public user posting, users may still submit information through forms, surveys, registrations, customer service messages or other interactions.

You must not submit anything to National Consumer Review that is:

  • illegal;
  • fraudulent or misleading;
  • abusive, threatening or harassing;
  • hateful or discriminatory;
  • sexually explicit or exploitative;
  • connected to child sexual abuse or exploitation;
  • connected to terrorism or violent extremism;
  • intended to encourage self-harm, suicide, eating disorders or dangerous behaviour;
  • designed to scam, impersonate, deceive or harm another person;
  • a breach of someone else’s privacy, rights or confidentiality;
  • technically harmful, including malware, phishing links or attempts to interfere with the website.

If we find or suspect this type of content or behaviour, we may remove it, block an account, prevent further entries, investigate the matter, retain evidence where appropriate, and report it to the relevant authorities.

5. Prize draws, offers and commercial partners

National Consumer Review is funded by advertising and commercial partnerships. We may work with advertisers, sponsors, data partners and marketing service providers.

We aim to work with partners responsibly and to make the commercial nature of the site clear. We do not want users misled into believing that National Consumer Review is officially connected with a brand, manufacturer or retailer unless that relationship has been clearly stated.

Where we promote third-party offers, users should always read the relevant advertiser’s own terms, privacy notices and conditions before making a decision.

We also expect our partners and suppliers to behave responsibly. If we become aware of a partner acting in a way that creates user safety, fraud, spam, privacy or compliance concerns, we will review that relationship and take appropriate action.

6. Marketing communications and user choice

We only want to send marketing communications where users have given the relevant permission or where we have a lawful basis to do so.

All National Consumer Review marketing emails should include an unsubscribe option. Users can opt out of receiving further marketing from National Consumer Review, and we will process unsubscribe requests as quickly as reasonably possible.

If you believe you have received an unwanted, misleading or unsafe message connected with National Consumer Review, please let us know so we can investigate.

7. Reporting a concern

Please contact us if you believe:

  • you have seen unsafe, unlawful or misleading material on National Consumer Review;
  • someone under 18 has registered or entered a promotion;

  • an advertiser, sponsor or third party has acted inappropriately;
  • someone is misusing National Consumer Review, impersonating another person, or attempting fraud;

When contacting us, please include as much detail as you reasonably can, such as the page you were on, the email you received, the date, the sender, screenshots where appropriate, and a clear explanation of your concern.

8. How we handle reports

When we receive an online safety concern, we will review it and decide what action is appropriate.

Depending on the issue, this may include:

  • investigating the report;
  • removing or correcting content;
  • blocking, restricting or deleting an entry or account;
  • contacting a supplier, advertiser or partner;
  • stopping further marketing activity;
  • preserving relevant evidence;
  • reporting serious matters to the relevant authority;
  • updating our policies, processes or risk assessment.

We will not always be able to share full details of our investigation, especially where privacy, security, legal or fraud prevention issues are involved. However, we will take genuine concerns seriously.

9. Risk review and governance

We will review this policy and our online safety position at least once a year, or sooner if:

  • the law or Ofcom guidance changes;
  • National Consumer Review adds new features;
  • users are allowed to upload, share or publish content;
  • we introduce messaging, community, chat, profile or forum features;
  • we become aware of a material safety, fraud, privacy or compliance risk.

If the nature of National Consumer Review changes in a way that brings it more clearly within the scope of the Online Safety Act, we will review our duties and update our processes accordingly.

10. Links to other policies

This Online Safety Policy should be read alongside our other website policies, including:

  • Privacy Policy;
  • Terms and Conditions;
  • Anti-Spam Policy;
  • Communication Preferences;
  • Unsubscribe information;
  • Prize Draw Terms where applicable.

These policies explain how we handle personal data, marketing communications, prize draw entries and user choices.

11. Final point

In simple terms, National Consumer Review is not designed to be a place where people publish content to each other. It is a marketing, offers and prize draw website.

Even so, we still have a responsibility to run it properly, protect users, keep children out of the service, investigate concerns, work with responsible partners, and keep our approach under review.

That is the standard we are aiming to meet.
